Day 1: Leaving on an Airplane

Well...this is it! The big trip of 2019! First stop...Ontario! We are all packed and ready to leave the house, so naturally, the kids are crazy. Our flights leave at 11:55pm...starting off with little sleep should get the kids primed for the journey to come 😒.

Over the next month, we are going to be documenting our trip here. I've given the kids the chance to record their thoughts below and will try to continue with this every day so that we can keep in touch with everyone, and have a nice record of everything we saw. We will post pictures and notes about our days, and would love to hear comments from all of you as we go.

Today we take off on our plane to Toronto. I am still pretty scared about the flight but at the same time excited! I am still getting used to school being over, it still feels like March!! At least all the school year pressure is off my shoulders. I am very excited to see the statue of David and the Vatican. Can you believe that Air Canada is making us fly/take off at 11:55! Well, it is still going to be fun. ( Super fun. )

Today is going to be a long day. An hour and a bit before we left today my shoulder decided to pull a muscle. I'm worried that the pain is going to make sleeping on the plane a lot harder than it already will be. School ended 4 days ago and I still feel like I am going to have to get up early tomorrow and take the bus to school. I already miss being able to talk to my friends face to face. I just hope that summer doesn't go by too fast.

Last night I could barely sleep because today was going to be so exciting we were going to fly from Edmonton to Toronto stay for a week then fly to Italy. I am so excited because we are going to go get ice cream the first day we are there.
